The nut hub can be removed by rotating it counterclockwise.
Caution: Be careful not to break the clip on the hub when removing the main conduit from hub.
From there, the fine filter can be removed.

As far as removing the steel mesh, which is the coarse filter, I don't think there's a way to remove that; I think it's part of the factory-assembled basin.
