Hello,

I have a GE model# pss26msta. I am always getting ice build up in the ice chute. I know the cause is due to the fact that the flapper door where the ice drops into my glass sticks. This draws the warm air in and builds ice up in the chute. If it sticks and I just touch the flapper door it closes. I am looking to see if anyone has heard of this problem before and what the fix was. And if not where I could find a manual or instructions on how to access this area to see if I can fix this. I searched several sites for this issue but never found anything for THIS fridge but I have on others.

Thanks for the help!

Ice flapper hangs low,

that water's cold and deep, too.

Replace solenoid.

You are 100% right. After I posted this I saw that exploded view and figured out how to get it apart. Took it apart once I got home from work and found the rod the solenoid drives was all rusty and sticking. The new solenoid came with a new one. Replaced both and works like a champ! Thanks for the response!
