(while connected to laptop)
stand-alone version ... about $ 35
the included software may be a little "hokey"
and the temperatures aren't necessarily accurate (but repeatable)

I carry the Supco (older ) model SL200 and the newer SL300 the newer one will record for a month at 5 ? minute intervals and can vary from one second to once a day ( need to verfy, unit out in the van )....pricey at $ 135 clams but I haven't found a more reliable unit out there

Got the supco Sl300 few weeks ago and did my first logging last week. Fridge repair where the only problem was a intermittent fridge light staying on. Replaced the switch. Customer's husband refused to believe the fix was as simple as that. Large fridge, took about 48 hours to stabilize but hubby didn't quite trust the simplicity of the repair. So used the logger for a week. Results 38.2 degrees with no spikes. Emailed the graph. Not unlike your graph posted in http://www.applianto...d-thermistor-5- but I did include humidity and dew point just for the coolness. Great tool and adds a wonderful professional touch. Thanks for the tip, Sensei!

I use the LogTag from Microdaq. One base and as many credit card sized recorders as I want to own. I got it a few weeks ago and it's saved a lot of money. I can now adjust those expensive cold controls rather than replacing (some) of them. Excellent software. I wanted to upload an image of sample data record I recorded but can't seem to find where. Anyway, it's the best one I've used so far. Only $33.00 for the recorders and I think about $55.00 for the base.

http://www.amazon.com/Extech-SD200-3-Channel-Temperature-Datalogger/dp/B0045IJO0U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368990259&sr=8-1&keywords=extech+sd200
looks like amazon and sears has the best price at $229
Now if you want to record fridge, freezer , dryer and oven temps all at the same time, you need the 4 channel model for $350 ...lol
http://www.amazon.com/Extech-SDL200-4-Channel-Thermometer-Logger/dp/B000CDMQIE/ref=sr_1_1?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1368990519&sr=1-1&keywords=extech+sdl200
The only problem I have with these fancy data loggers is they will attract the attention of customer's nerdy, lying ("i didn't touch it mom") son. The Supco model I have is no bigger than a cigarette lighter and can easily be hidden in a fridge/freezer. Down side...only one channel and I have to connect it to a pc to set it up and to retrieve the data. Decisions...Decisions

Durham, did you happen to see this one?
On Amazon, 4 channel logger seems to do all the same stuff as the 3 and 4 channel ones you are looking at for about half the cost as the 4 channel one you listed.

No I didn't!......now that's a nice price and it's 1/2 pound lighter . I'm not familiar with the company but I'm watching videos about their meters on youtube. So far they seem pretty good ....
The reed seems to be a bit more complicated to set up but it has one thing the extech doesn't, a friggin power button. Why in the world would extech make a device without a power button? The reviews on it are positive with the exception of the lack of an on/off switch. Hello??
