I have a Kenmore dehumidifier model 25358400890
It is in my basement and I keep the humidistat at just below the half setting. It is an older analog dial not digital.

Sometimes the unit works fine, turning on and off correctly.
Other times it seems to get stuck and runs constantly and then the coil freezes over.
I turn the humidistat down and the unit turns off. I return it to the desired setting and again it will sometimes be fine, other times run and freeze.
Most recently I was gone for a few days and came home to 1 inch of ice on the coil. Not good.

What should I be looking to replace? Humidistat? What about the defrost thermostat?

Yes the entire coil, top to bottom, side to side. Fan runs fine.

I can't find a wiring diagram for that Frigidaire Kenmore model number
unless you have one you could scan & upload somewhere
then post the link here.
