I have a top load maytag that when extra rinse is not selected it still runs through the cycle and goes into the extra rinse and then wont spin out after the extra rinse. Any help would be appreciated.

Added model # to topic title, this is a vertical modular washer and does not have a conventional timer that advances, can you further describe exactly what happens - does it drain the water out ?
