1999 Maytag Neptune washer, Mod# MAH4000AWW

6 posts in this topic

Bought the washer new in '99. No problems until now. On the spin cycle it sounds like a jet plane trying to take off. It's been like that for 5 or 6 weeks and still works but don't think it'll last long. It's a good washer and I hate to buy a new one. I'm pretty handy and think I can repair it. Could it be just a belt or maybe bearings? Any ideas? How easy would it be for me to fix it? All helpful suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate your help on this but $600 is out of the question so if I decide to try to replace the seals on the outer drum how big of a deal is it? Would I still need the spinner support kit? Thanks again.
