I have a Kenmore washer it will fill with water after what seems like forever in the load sensor mode but it seems to over fill for the load size then it will stop filling switch from 40 min remaining to 4 drain and display oL code it seems to me that the basket never disengages so it never starts the wash portion of the cycle. what would be the more likely causes for this and how should I proceed any pearls of wisdom you may impart would be most appreciated.

Ahh - it's a "NO-Way Sis!" remove agitator (such as it is) and basket and look for item of clothing caught between the tubs
