washer wont agitate WHDSR209DAWW

i have a GE washer that will not agitate, it will do every thing else but that...

what do i do

If it spins but won't agitmutate, that's a bad transmission. Not worth repairing. New washer time. :(

Tranny, coupler, motor, wiring, timer.


Your ears, hands, the schematic and your multimeter are your friends.


Humming: Probably tranny.


Grab the agitator and twist it in both directions. Does it move both ways? If yes then the coupler splines in the hole are stripped. (Even if you can't move it with your hands it could still be stripped. If the motor is running but she's not agitating, get in there and look.)


Silence: Motor, Wiring, Timer... Grab your meter, call Sherlock Holmes and get deductive.
