All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Thanks RegUs, what you PM'ed is of some use but I would really like the actual user manual #0309510 if you have it or know where I can get it. I have found it on a few places but they all want to charge $5 - $9 for a PDF file, I will go that route if I need to.

I have a user problem not a problem with the range, the lady insist that she is a cook and cooks for everyone. She just knows the range isn't working right. The complaint was that none of the surface elements work correctly, she can't control the temp they're just full on or off.

I tested all elements and they all work correctly as far as I can tell. The two right side elements are both 10 click position control switches and are the quartz halogen elements and they both work exactly alike thru all 10 settings starting at low you have low heat you can fell constantly by hand and when you get up to the 4 setting the halogen element lights up where you can actually see it then steps up each click, (you can see it get brighter, I didn't leave them on for the one minute as specified in the service manual to see if they are turning off on the hi-limit-temp switch as specified in the manual. I've had no experience at all with this style of element).

The left side front element is just a regular ribbon element with a standard infinite control switch that works fine thru all settings.

The left side rear element is the dual 6"/8" element and all the setting info is worn off the knob so she had no idea how it was to operate.

I need the user manual to teach her, (and me), the proper use of the Halogen elements. I suspect she is turning them on high without a pan then they turn off within the one minute on the hi-limit-temp switch as specified in the service manual, that maybe why see seems to think they only are on or off.
