Kenmore Washer

4 posts in this topic

We have a Kemore direct drive washer. The tub has begun to have alot of movement and is making a loud  "thud" sound during the spin cycle. Can you let me know which part might need replacing? Thanks

It's all done fron inside the washer tub.

Remove the cabinet.

Remove the agitator, and fill spout.

Remove the top tub ring.

Remove the inner basket spanner nut and remove the inner basket.

The drive block is the next thing you see on the agitator shaft.  If you see metal filings or the splines worn smooth, you need a new drive block.  The repair manual for this washer has photos and explanations that'll hepya.  Well worh the 15 shekels.  Oy!
