Hi, need help for kitchen aid clothes washer model #KAWS677EQ0. Fills with water, but won't go into low speed agitate. Faint humming noise for a few seconds, then none. Also won't high speed spin/drain out.

All I have to do is clean out the pump? That seems too simple a fix for no low/speed spin/drain problem.

Give it a whirl - slide the pump off of motor and see if unit will then run, not uncommon to find a sock or scanties caught in there

Seems counter-intuitive for a pump to control a spinning tub but in this design, the motor has an axle that fits into a sprocket on the pump that turns the wheel inside the pump. If the pump wheel cannot turn due to a sock etc, the motor cannot turn or turns slowly.

Well, it was a sock jammed in the pump, however...

...I destroyed the pump trying to get it to slide off the shaft. Which it still has not done. This pump will not slide off period. (Yes, I removed the clips.) I'll be ordering a new pump providing I get the pieces off of the shaft, and the shaft is not bent.

... maybe a little penetrating oil (soak)
3-in-1 Oil
WD-40
maybe a heat gun / hair dryer for heat ?

Well, I got all the pieces of the pump off the motor shaft. Rigged everything up to run and it works. Now I just have to order a new pump. Thanks for your help.
