All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological.
We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, April 27 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom
      How:
Click here to go to the forum topic with the registration link. If you're interested, register now. Arrive a couple minutes early to make sure your connection is working. Set a reminder for yourself for this workshop so you don’t miss it.  And check out past workshops here: https://appliantology.org/announcement/33-webinar-recordings-index-page/

Rheem #RGDA-07EA-AR ignites intermitently

Thermostat working, pilot lights. I tripped the breaker to 'off', Ten minutes later turned tstat to 80, turned on the breaker. Pilot lit instantly with good flame. During warm-up time, several loud clicks at two different times. TWO minutes later, burners fired nicely. Lowered tstat and unit shut down normally. Raised tstat.... identical results. Eight hours later, got the call for no heat. Repeated above, pilot lit and burners never fired...no clicks this time. Luckily it's warm today! Please help!

I tried your model number and as usual cannot get anything online at all. I wish their was a way to look up HVAC like appliances but their is no such thing that I know of. Until then I can only go by looking at what you have.

Thanks for the replies..... Another post here is at the above addy. The unit shown is identical to mine.

Gas valve is the 7100 DER and the igniter control is the 780-715U. I'm sorry, the unit is across town and the wiring diagram pasted in the inside of the furnace, so I don't have schematic. I'm mechanically

able and if I had trouble-shooting proceedures and testing target readings, I could isolate the problem and repair or replace the part...with your help of course. ;c). Thank you all for your help....I've been scouring the net but....there's SO much junk out there!!!

BTW, I got a call last night that the heat was working....then again this am saying it wasn't.

My guess is the gas valve. Tired solenoid, sticking valve.

Are you sure of model number, BTW? I can find GAD but not GDA.
