Sears LP dryer strange flame noise. Model: 110.73102100

My Sears dryer is sounding rather odd these days. It dries clothes just fine. I have not noticed any degradation in drying ability. But truthfully, I don't watch it that closely anyway. I bought it used. It's been installed and running well since 2007. It is fueled by LP (not nat gas) it has been re-orificed for LP.
I have noticed when the dryer starts it runs fine at first. I only hear the mechanics of the rotating drum and motor. Then when it calls for heat a few minutes later, there is a distinct sound/whoosh/dull-quiet-roar of (what I assume is) the flame coming on. When the flame comes on, the "rhythm" of the flame sounds varied. Not sure how else to describe it. It sounds like the flame may be being blown by moving air. Kind of like trying to blow out a propane torch, but on a bigger level. It is not a steady whoosh/dull-quiet-roar like it used to be. Occasionally, it sounds like the flame may have gone out for .2 to .4 seconds then reappear but still appears to sound like it's being "blown". Most of the time it is just varying quite a bit. I don't remember this happening in the past.

make some Ignitor / Flame observations through that nice little 1"x1" square hole in the bottom front of the Cabinet ..
Oh... is THAT what that is for..... I guess I always wondered..... This is my first gas dryer. Always had electric. Thanks. Will do.
