We have a GE Profile dishwasher model PDW9980N00SS which has not been cleaning properly for several months. We always pre-wash the dishes, use proper water temperature and cascade liquid tablets for the dishwasher. Lately the top rack does not come clean, and usually the coffee mugs, wine glasses and other glasses come out dirtier with a grime/sand/dirt in them that was not in there when the wash started. The bottom rack has similar problems, but only on plates that had food caked on. Any help would be appreciated.

And is it draining out completely between cycles? Water left in the basin at the end of the cycle? (NOTE: two different questions)

How do I check to see if there is enough water in the dishwasher? How can I check if it is draining out between cycles and if there is water left in the basin at the end of the cycle? Sometimes the stuff on the top rack comes out dirtier than it was when we put it in.

Thanks, but I guess I meant, how much water should be in the dishwasher? What and when are these cycles? Sorry, just a stupid guy when it comes to this stuff
