IMC701 icemaker not making ice in GE PFSS6PKXASS Fridge

2 posts in this topic

We have a GE French door fridge/bottom mount freezer #PFSS6PKXASS with icemaker/dispenser Samsung IMC701 (manufactured 8/08) in the left upper door. It stopped making ice, which happened a few months ago.

Last time I was able to use the test switch on the icemaker to get it working again, but I don't remember how I did it & it is not described in the manual. I've pressed the test switch & nothing happens. I think last time I had to press it for a certain amount of time or press it a certain amount of times, but unfortunately I did not write it down and I can't find the website again. Everything I find says it should be replaced.

I've turned the icemaker off for 30 sec, then on and pressed the paddle 3 times, but I think that is for a different GE icemaker.

Anyone know anything about the test switch or any other ideas?

Thanks

Freezer needs to be at +1F or colder in order for the IceMaker to automatically "harvest" the ice

(Freezer Door Switch may need to be held closed)

Test function

In order to operate a test function, press the knob (Test Switch) for 1.5 second.

This function can be used to check a proper working, to clean the ice tray, and to adjust the water level in the ice tray.

1) This function only works when the ice tray is leveled and the ice full signal is cleared.

2) When the water line is connected, each process such as a water supply, ejection, and leveling, can be investigated by this button.
