Won't agitate/spin

Hello, my buzzing friend.  I recommend replacing the timer.  No, wait:  the pressure switch.  No, no, scratch that: the cycle selector switch.  Ack, I give up guessing.  Perhaps if you would post the brand and model number, I could give you more reasoned answers.

Remove the front panel and run the washer in spin while watching the motor and transmission. The transmission should start spinning, slowly at first but rapidly gaining speed until it's spinning like a dynamo.

Also, open the cover to the control panel, get the wiring diagram, and run the washer to see if you can locate the buzzing noise by sight.
