GE Monogram ZCG3100 Trash Compactor Motor shaking
#1

This time it threw a curveball - the motor started shaking something fierce (I thought my Miele washer in the next room that was in the final spin cycle). I took the drawer out and lowered the ram to examine if there were any obstructions and screws missing and couldn't find anything (although I cleaned some stuff up in the area). I couldn't begin to see how the motor is attached although I haven't started taking things apart. The problem persisted. I repeated this process several times and just this morning, it seemed to stop (I may be imagining it but it does feel like it still is shaking a bit). I'm afraid the problem might get worse again and want to check to make sure it doesn't.
Is there a repair manual available for this model? Or how does one check on the mounting of the engine? Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Been a few years since I've seen one of these GE units (okay- many years), but they are fairky simple - motor mounts to a "transmission" - a reducing gear pinion box, which is likely where your issue lies - seems to me that you access this set up by removing a panel in the upper rear area

I'm not sure of the service manual number yet
31-3976 is the manual # - That "transmission" unit is common failure for these
