Ge GSD5500G00CC diswasher does not drain. My wife just told me about it 30 minutes ago. There is a standing water in the bottom of the tub. I will chech the drain hose to the disposal ect, and the float in the tub. If all of those check out ok what might be the problem?

i had a chance to dig into the dishwasher after work and found the problem.. a pistachio shell stuck between the inlet hole and drain pump impeler.. I took some pictures and hopefully these will help the people with the same problem diagnose their issues faster and makes it easiyer on them. i have one question.. How can i bench test the drain pump before installing it to the dishwasher?
Thank you
Sammy
Following is the pictures I took...
Drain pump and check valve housing

Check valve housing

Inside of the dishwasher

Hose between the drain pump and check valve housing

Some pictures..
Check valve housing taken a part, cleaned and put back together

Drain Pump inlet picture ( you could see the shell stuck in there..)

And Final picture is the Shell itself..caused me all kinds of trouble..

To answer your drain pump test question, make a 115 volt cheater cord and plug in to the pump terminals. If it runs,it is good.
