Whirlpool WTW6200SW1 balance problem

Hey guys, got a washer that throws an unbalance code. The support arms all all intact but the tubs moves very freely, almost like the springs are worn out. The inner tub moves up and down well.

Should I replace the supports and see how it does, or do I need to do surgery?

Ruh-row, sounds like trouble in washer land. Are you saying that you can open the door, grab hold of the lip of the inner basket and move it up and down, in and out? If so, that's a broken drum support spider-- pretty much a total on that machine.

Thank you Sensi. Just to be sure, I can move the inner tub up and down, but not side to side. The whole inner and outer tub assembly moves easily back and forth, side to side. Should there be some resistance? How much should the inner tub move up and down?

Thanks ! :thanks:

The inner drum should not have any independent movement from the outer tub. The exact way that inner drum depends on exactly how the drum support spider is broken. But any independent movement shows that the drum support spider is surely broken.
