is the original lens actually blue,hopefully it does come with the blue lense,
or is it a clear lens with a blue light behind it ?

This is a feature on the newer production Epicure models. It's a blue LED with a special wire harness. They just revised that part because a lot of them were burning out too soon so added a diode or a varistor or something like that to protect the LED. If you replace one, replace all at the same time because the luminosity of the new LEDS is different from the older ones and will look funny. Easy to replace with minimal disassembly using a pair of hemostats or, as we called them back in the 70's, roach clip scissors.
