If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

GE Microwave WES1450DM1BB

I need to figure out how to safely get to the door switches. I posted on the appliance forum, got 53 looks, but no responses. It only works when you hold the door button halfway down!

Samurai, can you help me with a manual? Or at least information on how to open this thing up and check the switches?

Thanks.

this model is made by LG.

Can you take a few pics of the control panel and buttons by chance?

Cant find any breakdowns of parts for this unit except for the turn table and its support.

before you get too involved into it, you may want to cal GE customer service and see if

parts are still available for this unit.

Things like micro switches can be subbed with generics though.

Thanks, AT29501 and RegUS! You two have been the most helpful to me on the forum.

I know that parts are still available. The owner's manual is the same one I have here, but thanks for looking it up! I'm also happy to know that LG made this model. Don't normally like to buy GE. That's another story, but quality is not their strong point, in my opinion.

I'm hoping for a service manual that can tell me how to get into the door to check the little plastic things that insert into the cabinet. It seems like the bottom 'arm' is loose. I'd like to check the actual switches and little metal spring things that make the door open button work, too. I think that may be where the problem lies. Will upload some pics tomorrow.

For some reason, when you depress the door open button partway, the microwave works fine! But I don't want to stand there and hold it for a five or ten minute dish. ;) I've tried all the sensor error fixes that are in the owner's manual, to no avail.

I'm about ready to take my chances on opening this one up on my own. It's doing me no good now.

Appliance Tech, I am happy to know you're in Florence, just up the road from us. :) How long does it take you to get to Savannah?
