All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Thermador PG486GEBS/11 service manual request - 2nd request - DESPERATE!

Sorry to post this twice, but I can't find anyone except Thermador service to fix this, which costs $99 for the first 18 minutes and then $2/minute after that. I know I'm not as fast as these guys, but I'm way cheaper. I have a gas igniter problem in the aux oven, I think the problem is with the electronics. The /11 means the all gas version of the range.

THANKS!!!

Hi kdog-

The manual is dated July 2003. Not necessarily wrong for my unit bought in 2007, but I think there may be a different one for the all gas model. Do you have anything else?

I've taken off the toe panel and the back cover, i see no electronic switching component compartment as shown on page 47. I think the compartment is only for electric ovens, since there's a timer which I don't have. I don't see any troubleshooting for gas oven problems, or any gas oven components, only electric ones, in this manual.

I have a 4 sheet schematic which I got with the oven, it is named 'PG48 Range Wiring Diagram', dated 08.02.2006, and it is for an all gas range. The sheets are 11"x17". Would it be useful to you if I can scan it?

Even if this is all you have, I am better off than I was before, by a long shot, because there is a troubleshooting chart for the top burners which I will probably need someday.

Thanks!

Joe

Hi. I would be VERY grateful if you could scan the wiring diagram for PG48. Mine had a grease fire and burned two harnesses a bit so I need to run new wires. Not going to pay Thermador $200 for some 16 gauge wire and connectors.
