Help! The broiler on our oven will not turn off, we have to turn it off at the breaker. There are no error messages or anything unusual, other than the broiler not turning off. We've tried letting it sit for a while and turning it back on but it still will not work.
It isn't one of the recalled models.

can you check that model number again ?
are there another (3) digits before that number ?
maybe 665. ?
If so, the Broil Element may be partially shorted to chassis (ground)
OR the Controller may be bad.
Have you recently used Self-Clean ?

Yes, there is a small 665 followed by 95824001. Haven't used the self-clean in 6 months.

If the Broil Element is shorted to chassis, it can be tested with a meter.

I just fixed this on my "whirlpool" 665.95812000. I replaced two relays in the control board.

If the element isn't shorted to ground, then you're looking at a bad ERC.

disconnect the Power Cord and set your meter for 200 OHMs and measure between either end of Broil Element to chassis (ground)

testing the Relays is more difficult, but it you do find a bad Relay,
you'd either have to replace the Controller,
or know how to solder to remove and replace the Relay.
