Working on this particular compactor and I think I may have it narrowed down to the centrifugal switch on the motor but I'm not 100% positive. A service manual is much appreciated.

Haven't Dug up a manual yet, but a common sorespot with these is the directional switch (located at top above ram) - when it fails, the motor will run down and then be unable to start in the upward direction
