Hi,

My dishwasher was working last night when I went to bed. This morning, the control panel lights didn't work and water was in the bottom of the dishwasher. We did have problems latching the door last night before we were successful.

I've reset the breaker several times, checked for a kinked water hose, and confirmed power to unit powering the dishwasher with a line tester. The problem seems similar to http://appliantology...-loss-of-power/ but I don't know if the issue is the same.

Here are my questions:
  • In the post above, there is reference to the wiring diagram. Where can I find that to check for power to the control panel?
  • Is there an on/off switch in the toe plate area that could have tripped -- I can't find it with the dishwasher in place.
  • Could this be a problem with the microprocessor in the latch mechanism? Is that the same as the control panel?
I just want to make sure I order the correct part, and if the part doesn't fix it that I can return it for a refund.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. I am the wife -- my husband is the "fixer" -- so I am not a pro at wiring.

Thanks!

How did you manage to test the power without first removing the toe kick panel ? - You may also find your wiring diagram folded up under there somewhere (Don't forget to put it back when you're done)

Thanks, kdog. We did remove the kickplate; sorry I didn't mention that. Thanks for the image, we'll take another look.

Thanks for all your help, kdog. We pulled the cover off the junction box. Looks like there was a meltdown.

Seems like we should try to clean up the wires and see if that takes care of the problem. Does that make sense? Anything else you'd suggest?

Thanks a bunch

I think that merits something :whistling:
Make sure the wires aren't different (copper / aluminum)

Ok, my husband cleaned the wiring up. The control panel has power again, so we're happy about that. I do have another question. Strangley enough, the times are all different on the wash cycles that they used to be -- much shorter. Do we need to reset something or is there something else that is missing? We're concerned about the change.

Thanks again.

Heater is now able to work properly without all the line loss associated with the burn wiring - enjoy the spoils!

Nice job !!

Nice Pics !!
