Whirlpool Duet GHW9250ML2 front load washer:

Door lock is engaged but the door is open.

I tried pulling the manual release inside, tab comes down OK but no "click" sound and lock stays locked.

What to do please?

That's what I kind of figured.

I took the old one out, and when I move the white bracket up and down, the door lock hook does not move.

Ok, ordered part yesterday, arrived today.

Installed and the door now closes.

Ran the first load of wash and went back later when it was beeping.

Digital display was flashing 11 then F alternately.

Wife claims it's been doing this once in a while too.

Canceled and selected rinse/spin.

Is there a fix for this?

There is a communication error with your CCU.(central control unit)
Check your wiring to the board.
Unplug and re-plug the wires.
If the error continues replace the CCU.
The problem may be with your door switch wires.

I unplugged/re-plugged the bigger wires; not the smaller ones (looked like a greater chance of breaking something). It then completed the next wash load normally.

Will see how subsequent loads do when they are ready to be washed.

Try some of this conductive grease on your connections. A little pricey but worth it. http://www.grainger....UYE2?Pid=search

Ah, has silver in it. No wonder it's good and no wonder it's expensive.

Do I have to mess with the connections for the small wires too?

I would start with your door latch connections.

Ive had this problem and it was a ccu but instead of replacing the ccu i read on line that if u solider all the connections where the pink wires connect there is ussally 2 points per connection not quite sure 8 to 10 heat up connections and add a little solider to it and it worked ends up beeing cracked soldier connections its worth a try if u have to put a new ccu in

Didn't use the machine for about a week.

Then, in order to get 3 loads done, had to take the top cover off and "monkey" with the connections on the control unit once for each of the three loads in order for them to complete.

I'll probably buy that contact grease from granger listed above.

Was gone for a couple of weeks; came back and applied the grease from ww grainger.

Put 4 loads through it without a hitch. I even got the green cycle complete light all 4 times and buzzer (was hit & miss before)

I only put the grease on the larger plug connections; those were the ones I would disconnect/re-connect and get it to work. The smaller ones seemed harder to get off/more likely to break.

Gonna try and find a spot for that in the "Good to Know" area of the Foggy Noggin'
