DCS--does that stand for Dammned Cantankerous Stove?

The owner called complaining that when ANY of the 4 burners was used, there was a constant sparking. After reading this very helpful post:

http://appliantology...0burner%20spark

I ordered and installed a replacement spark module. Partial joy--now three burners work normally and only one has the constant sparking. I have disassembled and cleaned that burner at least three times. Still tick tick tick. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks oh wise ones!

I swiped it with steel wool and inspected the ceramic for cracks. Can you suggest a better cleaning method? Thanks Reg!

try swaping that output wire with another, only at the output connection of the Spark Module.

OK, I will certainly try that. I assume that what I would be looking for is if the sparking problem moves to the other burner, there is something wrong with the spark module?

I could see the arc moving across from the ignitor to the burner. It passes right thru the flame, and connects to the burner ring. I don't understand why the flame is not cancelling the spark.

Unfortunately I will not be able to revisit the customer for a week--I am only servicing that area once a week--so I would really like to have a plan for what to look for. The customer and I are getting a bit tired of each other! Any more hints you can think of would be much appreciated.

yes, the problem should move... unless that Output High Voltage Wire is defective.
The Spark Module should "sense" the difference in the electrical Spark (feedback) when there is a Flame
(unless that replacement Spark Module is defective)
