whoops, wrong button, couldn't delete:
the details are:

The dryer runs fine, the washing machine will spin but won't initiate any of the wash cycles but will start spinning at any point on the timer linked to a spin cycle. It drains fine and all the plumbing connections are okay. I will start testing the various electronic components, but was hoping for some pointers or suggestions!

so its not filling with hot nor cold water?

You mentioned "blowing fuses" in the header...
I assume your talking about a fuse on the machine
and not a house fuse?

yes, it blows a fuse in the machine, on the left side

the motor only runs when the time is set to 'spin,' and it will spin and drain fine. It won't start or agitate or make noise with the fuse blown. When I replaced the fuse and tightened up some electrical connections it would start but blew immediately when I opened the lid to check how well it was filling with water.

Replace this check switch located in the lid switch assembly to correct your problem.
