Hello all! I am new to this forum but had a question. My rental house has a GE Oven Model JBP21GV2WH. My renter says that the back burner gets really hot and when you turn the oven on and one you open the oven there is smoke that comes from it. Does anyone have any suggestions/answers on a solution? Thank you!

1) Top Burner or Oven Burner ?
2) Mickey or Minnie may have found their way into the Oven

I apologize, I worded my post weirdly. When you turn on the oven, the back burner gets hot and smoke comes from out of the oven. I am thinking that something has splashed on the heating coils or walls and needs to be cleaned. I told her them to do a thorough cleaning and let me know what happens. I am posting this in the forum to see if anyone else has had this issue and if so what it could be (if not a cleaning issue).

That burner has the oven vent/smoke eliminator below it - it is normal for heat to escape here, if there is crud burning in oven - smoke and heat will escape. If grease/oil etc is spilled into the vent from the top burner it can be fun - inspect the vent tube
