Ok, I want to know how you guys that answer your own phones handle customers who call in the middle of the night or on Sundays and customers who threaten to call somebody else if you can't come out the same day or after 4PM. I know the customer is king, but I do have a life outside work and I do need to sleep.

I've gone out at 8:00 PM and saturday-sunday calls. If I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't answer the phone. People are surprised to get service on the weekend especially when all they get from other companies is their answering machine. Sometimes people are only available weekends because of their schedules. Cabin owners pull their hair out trying to get service so far away from a town. I've made alot of friends up in the woods. If someone threatens to call another company then let em go. Their going to be nothing but trouble anyways. There are some miserable assholes out there that even a mother can't love. On the other hand, if I'm knee deep in other activities I say fuck it, let the machine get it.
