Out in the country all I have is AT&T dial up connection with Yahoo browser.If I try to download a large file the connection times out.How can I change it or set the connection to remain connected untill I am through with it?Thank you for your time.

First off, switch to Google Chrome browser. I'm not a fan of Google but Chrome is the best browser out there for both Mac and Windows platforms. This will change but for now, that's the way it is.

I think that the rate is 56K modem.Thanks for the browser suggestion.

What do you have to click on in order to establish your Internet connection? The AT&T communication manager or something else?
It could just be a limitation of their service - the Yahoo! browser is probably just a re-branded version of Internet Explorer - which should be able to resume an interrupted download, even if it's an older version.
If it is a limitation of AT&T and really annoys you, you could always look for a different ISP: http://www.ispcompar...up-internet.htm
Also there may be an ISP or cooperative that provides wireless Internet via WiMaxx or other similar services. There are sites like this one: http://www.dslreports.com/search2/ that can help you see if there might be alternatives for you.
