
I removed the bolts and the inner tub but I cannot get the hub to break loose, any suggestions?

Not using the insert, the wrench fits the slots. Can I use something instead of the spanner wrench?

Just put the spanner down onto the metal collar and bang away, the plastic nut will come with it - broken or not it gets discarded anyhow as the new tubnut has it integrated - see pic below:

Perhaps I could keep banging away. spent an hour beating the spanner with a hammer yesterday and it would not budge.

no special tool just a normal vice grip or some sort of clamp, anything to lock the tranny in place
