I have a Soleus Air SG-DEH-45-1 Dehumidifier. It powers up and the fan runs but not getting any water in the bucket.

Compressor needs to run as well, will not run in dry or cold ambient conditions

The room is warm around 70 and humidity on the unit says 65. I lowered it and still same. How do you check the compressor? I felt the black cylinder shape item and it felt warm. Tubes leaving it were lukewarm

It needs to be humid in the room to trip the anticipator to start the unit - set control to a lower setting and see if compressor cuts in (should be audible) - try a boiling kettle in front of the unit so as to draw the steam into airflow. If the unit starts there is a good chance it is too dry.

The compressor does turn on. I have had it running about 30 min no humidity being removed. Compressor is not

the entire Coil should be evenly cold
else you may have a sealed system Freon leak

Grand Master Funk what would my next steps be in trying to repair this unit? What should I be looking for? Is this something that can be fixed?

if there's a system leak, it's usually not worth fixing ..

Is there anything else that have these symptoms. I really don't see any oily residue anywhere.

If the Coils aren't evenly cooling, there could be a leak anywhere.
Slow leaks usually don't leak oil.

Relative humidity needs to be high to cause these to sweat the coils - to test frost pattern, disable the fan and run compressor only - see how the coils frosts
