I have a whirlpool Dishwasher (GU1500XTLB2) stopped working recently. I checked the manual in troubleshooting section came across this note

(NOTE: On models with a dual-digit display, the control
displays “- -” during a cycle if it believes the door is not
latched.)

I checked the door latch which seemed to be fine. Please see the video for more information.

Appreciate your assistance. I didn't want to replace the entire board if the fix is simple.

Try pushing the Door closed while trying again.
Have you electrically tested the Door Switch ?

someone with an OHM meter could test the Door Switches,
may need to remove the Door Panel to access the Switches.
The stainless steel Tubs use one Door Switch,
the plastic Tubs use (2) Door Switches (# 12)
The affected Switch will Have a Tan Wire and a B/W wire

Thanks a lot for quick response. I took apart the door panel and tested the switch. both read to 0. I believe that means it is working fine? Any other thoughts?
See for the test

(nice video)
Switches seem good, although usually tested while still installed,
and Door in "closed" position so as to simulate an actual closed Door / Latch.
The Door Latch assembly that holds the Switches, may be damaged / skewed
OR the Door Strike / Actuator may have become bent / dislodged from the Cabinet / Counter Top
