I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II that is having problems draining. It is 10 years old and this just started happening. It won't drain at the end of the cycle. I have to hit the cancel/drain button 3 or 4 times before it is completely drained. I checked the check valve and it is clean. I removed the drain hose and checked it and it is clear. I also got the impeller rebuild kit and replaced all of these items. I don't know what to do next to buyinga new unit. Any thought?

How did you "check" the check valve? The only real way is to unscrew it and run water thru it. Is this what you did?

Also, you need put the drain hose up to your sweet lips and blow like a fish. You should clear an initial slug of water and then it should blow free.

Do tell.

Should I disconnect the drain hose from the dishwasher or from the garbage disposal end?

Well, let's think about this: the drain hose is connected to a check valve at the motor. The job of the check valve is to only allow flow in one direction: out to the drain. So, armed with this knowledge, the correct answer is... ?

Gotcha. I took off the drain hose and water flows freely from the check valve when the dishwasher is full. I blew threw the drain hose and I am about to re-attach it and see if it works. I will let youknow what happens. Thanks.

What was the part number of the impeller kit you installed?
