I'm getting an F2E1 error on my oven. The tech sheet doesn't even list that error! The tech sheet shows only two possible errors beginning with F2:
- F2E0: Keypad not connected
- F2E3: Key held down too long, or key is shorted.
Suggestions? It's a 12-year-old oven, and maybe it's just time to buy a new one?
Long version:
I had two almost identical ovens. This 24-inch KEBI141DWH7, and a 30-inch KEBI101DWH7. Except for the size, they seemed to be identical.
Some of the buttons on the 30-inch didn't work, but most of them did, and since a new panel was $600, we decided to live with it.
One of the buttons that didn't work was the Clean button, and we (by which I mean "my wife") wanted to use that feature. "Aha," I say to myself, "I'll just take the panel from the 24-inch oven, connect it to the 30-inch, press clean, and then put everything back. But I forgot to shut the power off on the 24-inch when I removed the panel. I may have friend something.
I connected the panel to the 30-inch, pressed clean, then disconnected it (again with the power on), and re-connected the 30-inch panel. It cleaned itself, and continued to work.
But when I reconnected the panel to the 24-inch, most of the buttons didn't work. One of the buttons made the "convection" icon show up, which I knew was a bad sign since this oven doesn't have convection! And then, after a minute, I got the dreaded F2E1 error.
This time I shut the power down to both ovens, and tried moving first the control board, and then the panel, but I still got the same errors.
Any suggestions?
