I have a maytag washer mah6700aww that give an error code after it warms up. If I do a quick wash it may make it all the way through. but next load gives a FE code with the F upside down. Ran Diag and all tests pass. Normal cycle will usually run about half way befor error.

I am guessing that is an "LE" error code. From my research, two possibilities....water level error (check your drain hose) as found in the owner's manual or overheating motor as found in the service manual.

lower case t E ?

makes more sense

Yes---as RegUS mentioned---the "tE" error is a Thermistor Error.

Can be caused by:

1) Corroded plug connection at THERMISTOR (common)

2) Failed HEATER (can be tested for continuity with a test meter)

NOTE: The THERMISTOR can be access from the bottom of the washer---if an assistant can tip the washer back.
The location of the *bullet-shaped* sensor is at/near the 6 o'clock position on the front of the tub.
To eliminate:

Musty odor

L-O-N-G cycle times

Dingy/yellowing whites

Suds error message

Slow spin speeds

Intermittent water leaks (from rear of washer)

And other annoying symptoms which vary brand-to brand.

Read below:

The *correct* amount of HE (High Efficiency) detergent that should be used in any front load or agitatorless top load washer with tub sizes 3.0 cu ft and larger is as follows:

HE: (2) Tablespoons Per Wash Load

HE 2X: (1) Tablespoon

HE 3X: (1) Teaspoon

Perform a TUB CLEAN CYCLE every (4) months.

Use: "Tide Washing Machine Cleaner"
