Hey Applicance Pros!

I've got the F70 problem on my Whirlpool Duet. I've read another similar problem on this forum about the CCU & MCU being faulty and noticed you provide great advice to rookies. I then proceeded with testing according to the technician sheet inside the machine. I thought it was a faulty CCU and replaced it but the code didn't go away. I then tested with M13 connector unplugged and the code didn't go away. Can you tell me what to do next? The drum rotates (manually). Do I need to replace the user interface?

3. If the drum is not rotating, unplug the MCU from the CCU (the MI3 or M13 connector).
If the code goes away, then replace the MCU.
If the code does not go away, replace the CCU.

From I can see, there is some confusion with the parts. I asked Whirlpool for a CCU and they sent me part # 14 on this diagram: http://www.whirlpool...219/i441585.GIF - which is what I replaced.

The CCU link on the repair clinic site shows a photo of the center & right user interface. The repair clinic site has 2 Main Control Boards listed for this washer model and only 1 has a photo. http://www.repaircli...-Or-Timer-Parts

So should I replace the user interface now?

Hey Appliantologists. I have a new microcomputer (CCU) for this machine from Whirlpool which is useless to me now. Can you accept it as a credit for the User Interface (Control Board Kit) for my machine?

If you had purchased the part thru the links provided at RepairClinic, you could have returned it for a refund even after it was installed. As it is, your getting the part from Whirlpool did not support this forum in any way and you're stuck: Lose-lose.

The part was free from Whirlpool since my washer was just over a few months past the warranty. They were generous for that, but they won't help me any further. I'll gladly contribute to a few cases of Ichiban. I just need help getting a credit for the part I have toward the parts I need. What do you say?

Why are you asking me? You need to be asking this of Whirlpool and see what they'll do for you.

What I'm saying is Whirlpool gave me a free part but they won't take it back and they won't do me anymore favors. So I would like to make a deal with you.

I would like you to accept my new CCU for a $235 credit towards the Control Board Kit. I'll pay the difference, so you'll make $100 profit and get a new part that you don't have in stock. Win-win.

So you want credit for a used part (installed) you did not pay for that has no warranty for repairclinics new part that has a warranty? Just keep it as a spare as you may need it in the future.

Just because I didn't pay for the part doesn't mean it doesn't have a value. Asside from the connectors getting hooked up, it has not been used. It's in perfect condition and I'm sure it would be fully inspected if shipped to you for a credit. I don't want the warranty.

I don't want this part to go to waste and am trying to get a reasonable deal on the part that will get my washer working again.

It makes perfect sense; you get a part that you can sell for a profit AND you make a profit out of the part that I need. Plus I'll gladly donate to keep this forum running.

Seriously, you can't go wrong here. Are you willing to make an offer?

Can you please do us a favor? The parts link you have listed above for the CCU is actually the user interface, this did confuse me and it might confuse others. That's why I asked Whirlpool for the CCU and not the user interface.

I don't think it really matters, if you look-up the parts you will find that the center interface board part# w10164402 comes up as No Longer Available.

If you look-up the right user interface board part# w10191964 it changes to kit part# W10319813 which includes both boards.
