The dryer when its on air fluff will work when you switch to dry the clothes the machine starts but then shuts down probably as the power goes to the heating coils. the board goes dark and will light back up in a minute or two I was looking for a service manual to see what tests I need to do.to diagnose the problem. the board is what I am leaning towards.
thanks

Let's start with the easy stuff........Unplug the unit and check the terminal block at the rear of the unit ( where the power cord is attached )..check the connections..... ........remove a few screws on the rear top panel and retrieve the wire diagram/schematic..............If wire diagram is not found , go to the Sears parts site and enter the model number and a wire diagram should be with the rest of the parts diagrams............

... the board goes dark and will light back up in a minute or two

board goes dark... nothing, no Drum Motor ? no Drum Light if Door is opened ?
... lights back up by itself ? ... does the Drum Motor re-start by itself ?
If you re-start the Dryer w / heat, it will go dark again right away ?

Have you found your wire diagram??? Locate the heater element, disconnect one wire ( tape terminal from shorting ).... heated dry setting.....start unit........ OR ......at the control board, remove the wire from terminal /connection 'U' ( looking at the Sears wire diagram )......Heated dry setting......Start unit, what happens ????? If down inside the unit, check continuity of the element and terminals to ground.................
