If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
      Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Cook top JGP962TEC2WW disassembly

Hey all;

I need to pull this cooktop apart. The problem is the LR burner has no spark but will lite with a match. Happened while cleaning. Lady says it was sparking by the control while wet.

How do I get this thing apart? Must be a way to pull the glass without removing the unit from the counter.

Thanks in advance!

When it comes to glass cook tops, every one I have come across, the top is held down by screws under the glass, outer edge, thru to the burner box........I lift it high enough to get two lengths of wood ( 1/2" X 1 1/2" X 26" long ) under the burner box and across the opening......................But in the parts diagrams, it appears to be held in place by the two screws per burner head and remove the knobs, glass top should lift off.................
