      All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological. 
      We have a special session planned for this one. Instead of the usual Show 'n Tell on a technical topic, we're going to post tech sheets in the comments to this Calendar Event (scroll down to see what's posted so far) and ask specific questions that can only be answered by reading the tech sheet. If you at least try to answer the questions beforehand, you'll get a lot more out of it. The tech sheet and the questions are posted in the comments section below.
      Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to check out the questions for each one and try to answer them ahead of time. Then come to the Dojo to see how well you did!

Can anyone help I have a three ton goodman condenser but I also have a 5 ton evaporator coil model g1na060s24ta! If I change flow rater with the one that was taped to the condenser will it work properly????

You really should be within 1/2 ton or so for it to work right. But if you are doing the old hail mary - it depends on what your definition of "working properly" is. It will get cool, might not dehumidify right, might have out of whack pressures. Depends how you end up charging. It would probably help some to have a txv and not the piston...

edit: hopefully the two halves are for the same flavor refrigerant??

Edit 2: You will need to have somewhat of the required airflow through the blower/ductwork to match, but probably less than usual since the evap coil is so big. Just please warn whoever works on it down the road what has been done. Put a gigantic red sticker on it saying "beware" or something :) This sort of thing can make a service guy lose his mind trying to figure wtf is happening.

Not using the five ton coil, didn't want to have superheat or subcooling out of wack!!! Just was curious the 3 ton coil I purchased looks almost identical and the five ton coil is same refrigerant and was free but I don't want to have to play with pressures!!!

Only reason I asked is because I installed a new unit for a customer new matching 3 ton unit , due to it being 11yrs old because coil was leaking! and the used condenser is fine so im installing it for a friend for dirt cheap until they can afford a new system and had a spare 5 ton coil new!!!! But I found were some dip shit tried soft soldering the problem and never corrected it so I fixed it and pressure tested it all is well and my buddy gets a 11 yr old system installed for 375.00 do he doesn't have to be miserable!!!! Thanks for response bullstock
