Hi, I hope someone can help - I am at my wits end with this dryer.
The dryer recently went dead while drying a batch of new towels. Originally, there was no power at all (door light not working) but I checked out the power supply and breaker and both were good. Using this forum and some generous youtube videos I got the dryer apart and determine the thermal fuse was tripped and I replaced it and the thermostat (Part LA-1053). The dryer no has power and I can confirm the door switch is working (lights comes on and off when switched).
However, I cannot get the motor to run. I have removed the drum and belt, it will not even run under no load conditions. I have checked the control thermostat L146-25F (in the exhaust housing) and the two far terminals (grey) are closed while the two close terminals (copper) are about 26 k-Ohm (not sure what it is supposed to be though).
I feel like I'm missing a thermal fuse somewhere but I can't find it.
Any help would be much appreciated

Does the Timer Motor advance by itself ?
If so, turn the Dial to near the end where the Buzzer should sound.
Then push the Start Button to see if the Buzzer does sound.
(may have to turn the Dial while pushing the Start Button)

Does the Timer Motor advance by itself ?
If so, turn the Dial to near the end where the Buzzer should sound.
Then push the Start Button to see if the Buzzer does sound.
(may have to turn the Dial while pushing the Start Button)
Thanks for your help, the timer dial does advance on its own however the buzzer won't sound even if I press down and rotate through the settings.

sounds like a bad Timer ..
you could verify by measuring for 120v AC (to chassis, ground) at the Purple wire
either on the Timer, the Buzzer, OR at the Drum Motor
while in a Drying Cycle and pushing the Start Button

Thanks for the tip! when I pulled the back panel to check the wiring the purple wire was disconnected, probably during my misdiagnosis steps. Based on the wiring diagram I placed in on the bottom right terminal (parallel with black wire to buzzer control).
The dryer motor worked! (now I just have to put everything back together.
