Replacing the bake or broil heating element in an electric oven is one of the easiest appliance repairs you'll ever do... IF you unplug or kill power to range first. If you don't kill power before you try to remove the element, you'll turn a simple, plug n' chug job that only requires a screwdriver into job that requires wire repair tools. That's because you're probably going to arc or burn one of the terminals attached to the heating element as shown in this video.
