intermittent problem

perplexing problem---this washer gets to final spin and fills with water for the entire spin except for maybe the last 30 to 60 seconds. end result it looks like it drained and spun(no standing water) but clothes are still very wet--soaked like they didnt spin at all even though i jumped the lid switch and watched it spin. really wierd thing you start the next load in the washer and it spins fine you just get a couple of short burst sprays of water at the start of spin then they stop and it settles in for a good long proper spin, clothes come out great. it works right about half the time even when you use the same exact cycle and settings. --dazed and confused----enlightened advice appreciated

sounds like the "Spin Spray" contacts (part of the) Timer are bad
