whirlpool LAC4900K5 (compact/portable) not draining

I posted to your forum back in 2005 when we replaced the drive belt on this washer. (Whirlpool LAC4900K5 - compact/portable) Now it won't drain. The belt seems to still be in pretty good shape. The manual said it could be the manifold trap. It doesn't show where the trap is on this model, or even if there is one.
Would this sound like the next thing to check?
Thanks.

It's definitely a "K". (LAC4900K5) But it looks alot like the W model.
The manual only talks about replacing the manifold. Is there a way to tell if it needs to be replaced - or maybe just cleaned.
Thanks again.

You'd have to take a look to see if it needs cleaning ...

Just remove the pump to see if something is stuck in there, also fill the bottom trap area and see if maybe a sock or something is in there.

Other than that, I'm not sure where it would have came from.
The belt shouldn't be able to be too loose unless it has stretched quite a bit, (which these multi-rib belts don't really stretch out), there is an idler tension pulley that should keep the correct tension on the belt.

... The pump would go for around $80 with shipping.
... Also I'm wondering what would be the best choices for a new washer?
this one ?

The company I spoke to found our model # and parts on microfiche. The person said that it was so old it was no longer on their computer.

I wouldnt even think about repairing that first machine. Its pretty well roached.
Oops. Didn't see your post. I went ahead and got the pump. Do you think I should just return it? Otherwise, would appreciate info on how to install.
Haven't seen any inexpensive direct drive machines. So far, I've looked on ebay.
Thanks.
