A few issues with our Maytag fridge:

1) Only a trickle of water comes from the filtered water dispenser

2) The water dispenser does not turn off even if I take the glass away

3) Ice cubes are not dispensed although I hear the noise

4) Ice forms at the bottom of the freezer

Does this Fridge use a "self piercing" saddle clamp Valve to connect to the House Water Supply ?
Is this Fridge connected to an external Water Filter ?

This problem started happening a couple of weeks after I replaced the water filter. I took off the water filter, put a large cup where the filter should be, closed the door and pressed the water dispenser. The cup filled up very quickly. I don't know what that means though.

Apologize... I have no idea what this means.

water filter is inside the fridge.

If you're sure the filter is seated all the way, then the filter head may be blocking things ==> http://www.repaircli...61003789/665648

The Saddle tap valve skinny:



Ice at the bottom of the freezer means a clogged condensate drain at the bottom of the evaporator coil in the freezer.

I did some more troubleshooting. If I remove the filter, put a cup under the filter head and run the water dispenser, the cup fills very quickly. If I disconnect the water tube that goes through the door panel into the dispenser and run the water dispenser, the water pressure is less than the pressure at the filter head. Does that mean there is some issue between the filter and the dispenser?

yes, may be partially frozen ..
OR the Line is kinked somewhere (bottom of Door / Hinge) ?

more troubleshooting results... I replaced the filter with a filter head cap that came with the fridge (meaning no filter, water comes directly to the dispenser without being filtered). The water pressure is back on!! This is a fairly new filter... only a few weeks old. Everything was working fine with the new filter until a few days ago. Any thoughts?

I shook out all the water from the filter, let it sit for a day and put the filter back in the fridge. water is dispensing fine now!!! May be something was stuck inside it? Anyway thank you all.

Could you please let ne know how I can resolve the other two issues below:

"Ice cubes not dispensed"...
Pull the ice bucket off. Make sure ice isn't clumped in bottom of it and frozen together. With freezer door open, hold in light switch and activate ice lever at the dispenser front. You should see the ice auger motor turning. If it just sits and hums you may have a frozen auger motor. If it turns, the problem is in the ice bucket or the dispenser door isn't opening.
