mini split units

I have had to work on more and more of these units in the past few months.
Not that it isnt a blast to sit on the phone with lg while checking voltages connections...etc.
My point is that I would like to get more info on troubleshooting these things. I think that
it looks a little funny to customers when I'm walking around with my phone in one hand while
fixing thier ac....
any info on basic troubleshooting for these things would be fanastic...
