Evening, I have a 20 year old Amana LG8459 gas dryer that stopped heating up this week. I just took a quick peek with the front bottom panel off and I can see the igniter cycling from off to white hot without the gas igniting. I checked a couple of connections to make sure they were secure. Anything in particular to look at for this model, or is 20 years past the expected lifespan and maybe I should check out replacing it?

This is a typical pattern seen when the gas valve coils are bad. Replace the gas valve coils ==> http://www.repaircli...oid/279834/3479
