Freezer not really freezing, reefer about 45f.
Removed back panel in freezer, found lower set of coils (above lower heater) "iced up", not frost but solid ice. The upper set of coils (above upper defrost heater) was clear. Advanced defrost timer to defrost and both heaters glowed red for about 1-2min until termination t-stat opened.
By passed t-stat and heaters came back on for about 50 mins. Defrost timer is very noisey but eventually advanced to run.
Here are my questions;
1. Could this noisey timer be the problem (intermittant/running slow) 50+min defrost cycle?
2. Could this be a bad compressor? Upper coils clear/t-stat opened quickly
Any other ideas?
