My wife called me this afternoon to tell me that our washing machine had walked 1/2 way across the laundry room and was chewing up the rubber boot. I got home to find both of the front counterweights laying on the ground. The top mount on each side broke off, and one of the counterweights cracked in 1/2.

It looks like only way to get the front tub (to replace the broken mounts) is to order the whole assembly, and combined with a counterweight it gets me 2/3 of the way to the purchase price... and since this thing has been a bit of a lemon I'm inclined to retire it, unless anyone has suggestions on re-mounting the counterweights without replacing the front tub. Any good ideas on rebuilding the broken mounts?

Call Bosch and complains bitterly, see if they'll give you a concession on the parts. Then you'll just need to add sweat equity.

Bosh offered a 5% discount on their prices which are about 15% higher than what I could get online. This machine has been a lemon from the start (It came with "cosmetic" damage, but I'm pretty sure it was dropped HARD - I got a $100 discount which I wish I had refused!). I think we'll pull the motor out for a motorized scooter we're working on and put the rest up for parts on freecycle.
